Game developer Naughty Dog has released the system requirements for the PC version of The Last of Us Part 1. A PC needs at least 16GB of RAM and an SSD with 100GB of free storage space to meet the minimum requirements.
Those who want to run the game on low graphic presets, at a resolution of 720p and at 30fps, must have at least an AMD Ryzen 5 1500X or an Intel Core i7-4770K. In that case, the graphics card must also be at least an AMD RX 470 (4GB) or an RX 6500 XT (4GB). If the game has to run at a resolution of 1080p and a frame rate of 60fps, with high graphics presets, at least an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X or an Intel i7-8700 CPU is required. The graphics card must then be at least an AMD RX 5700 XT or RX 6600 XT, Nvidia RTX 2070 Super or RTX 3060. These graphics cards must according to Naughty Dog have at least 8GB vram.
As soon as gamers want to play the game at 1440p or a 4k resolution at 60 frames per second, at least 32GB of RAM is required. If a resolution of 1440p is targeted, a PC must have at least an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X or an Intel i7-9700K CPU. The graphics card must then be at least an AMD RX 6750 XT, or an Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti. Those who want to play the game at 4k must have an AMD Ryzen 9 5900 X or an Intel i5-12600K CPU. The GPUs must then be at least an AMD RX 7900 XTX or an Nvidia RTX 4080.
The PC version of The Last of Us Part 1 will support AMD FSR 2.2 and Nvidia DLSS, but will also include VSync and frame cap options. According to developer Naughty Dog, players can also change various other graphical settings in the game’s settings menu, such as the quality of the textures, shadows and reflections. The game supports ultrawide monitors with an aspect ratio of 21:9 and 32:9. There is support for 3D audio and gamers can use the DualSense controller, DualShock 4 controller or other input methods.
The PC version of The Last of Us Part 1 was supposed to be released on March 3, 2023. However, developer Naughty Dog announced last month that the game will be released on March 28. The developer said they need the extra time to improve the game. The Last of Us Part 1 was released for the PlayStation 3 in 2013 and later also came to the PlayStation 4. In the game, the characters Joel and Ellie must survive after a mutated fungus turns human hosts into aggressive creatures. Sony announced a remake of the game last year, which was released for the PlayStation 5 in September.
