MSI has introduced the RTX 4080 16GB and 4090 24G Gaming Slim. These video cards come in a thinner housing and come with a modified cooling system. MSI claims that there will be no changes to the performance of the GPUs. It is not clear how much the GPUs should cost.
The GeForce RTX 4090 24G Gaming Slim measures 322x136x62mm and thus MSI approaches the dimensions of the regular Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090, which measures 304x137x61mm. The Gaming Slim variant takes up three slots and comes with a TRI FROZR 3 cooling system that has three fans. The video card also has a nickel-plated copper baseplate, eight heat pipes and a metal backplate with an opening through which heat can flow away faster. The RTX 4090 Gaming Slim comes with two DisplayPort 1.4 connections and also two HDMI 2.1 ports. In addition to the black and white regular Gaming Slim card, there will also be one Gaming X Slim variant out. It had a standard clock speed of 2610MHz, compared to the regular version which has a clock speed of 2535MHz.
The GeForce RTX 4080 16GB Gaming Slim measures 322x136x62mm; these are exactly the same dimensions as the 4090 Slim. This GPU also takes up three slots in a computer case and is also supplied with the TRI FROZR 3 cooling system. This video card, like all other cards from the Gaming Slim line, had a nickel-plated copper baseplate, heat pipes and a metal backplate with cutouts. The RTX 4080 Gaming Slim also has two Display 1.4 ports and two HDMI 2.1 connections. This video card can be supplied in white and black and there is also a Gaming X Slim variant. It had a standard clock speed of 2610MHz, compared to the regular version which has a clock speed of 2520MHz.
MSI will have the Gaming Slim video cards at the end of August announced. The company also announced the lineup of Gaming Slim cards at the time, including a variant of the RTX 4060, RTX 4060 Ti, RTX 4070 and RTX 4070 Ti. It is not yet clear how much MSI’s Gaming Slim variants will ultimately cost.
