Microsoft has shown off the Surface Laptop Studio 2, Surface Laptop Go 3 and, for the business market, Surface Go 4. The former contains the most changes; the other two have a new processor as their biggest improvement.

The Surface Laptop Studio 2 contains a maximum of a Core i7-13800H CPU from Intel, which has fourteen cores and twenty threads, and an Nvidia RTX 4050 or 4060 GPU. There is also a basic model with an integrated Xe GPU in the Intel processor. The laptop also has a maximum of 64GB Lpddr5x memory and 2TB of storage. The device also contains an Intel NPU, USB-A port and micro SD card reader for the first time. Furthermore, Microsoft promises that the haptic touchpad is more responsive and ‘accessible’, because users should be able to customize it better to their needs.

Furthermore, this one has according to Microsoft a battery life of between 16 and 19 hours and a Surface Slim Pen 2 is included. The screen size remains 14.4″ and the resolution and refresh rate are also the same, at 2400×1600 pixels and 120Hz respectively, as well as the 58Wh battery. The device also keeps its unique ‘Dynamic Woven Hinge’ hinge, which allows the screen to be repositioned in different positions The cheapest Surface Laptop Studio 2 model costs 2,249 euros in Europe. The laptop will be available from October 3.

The Surface Laptop Go 3 contains relatively few changes. For example, it now has a Core i5-1235U processor from the Alder Lake series, with ten cores and twelve threads instead of four cores and eight threads as was the case with the eleventh generation model of the Laptop Go 2. The RAM and the storage capacity of the base model doubles, to 8GB and 256GB respectively, with the option to go for a more expensive model with 16GB of ram and 512GB of storage.

The new version of the Surface Go 4 is intended for companies and the biggest change is a new processor: the Intel N200 with four cores and the same number of threads. The previous model included an Intel Core i3-10100Y. However, there is only a version of the new model available with 8GB of RAM, while its predecessor also had a version with 4GB of RAM. The base model still has 64GB of storage, although there is now the choice of a 128 or 256GB model. For the rest, there is no difference compared to the Surface Go 3.

The Surface Go 4 should be available in the US from $579, and the Laptop Go 3 from $799. European prices are not yet known. Like the Surface Laptop Studio 2, the Laptop Go 3 will be released on October 3. The Go 4 will be available sometime this fall, but only for business customers.
