Microsoft has made available a test version of Windows 11 with some design changes that will probably eventually appear in the 23H2 update of the operating system. The update does not contain any new features yet.

Microsoft has released Insider Preview Build 25151 for Insider users in the Dev Channel. According to Microsoft, this contains mainly fixes to improve Windows 11† For example, the company explains that the update fixes a window scaling issue that led to unexpectedly large tabs.

As Windows Latest notes, a visual change is that the OS with the build version displays the “How do you want to open this file” dialog box displays in the design style of Windows 11, with support for dark display. This window has not been modified since Windows 8. Microsoft also makes it easy to change default files opening apps.

Users of the regular Windows 11 version can probably only see the adjustment in the second half of 2023. Unlike Windows 10, Microsoft only updates Windows 11 once instead of twice a year. According to Windows Latest, the changes from build version 25151 will not be part of Windows 22H2, which will be released later this year.
