Microsoft is starting with the mass production of large touchscreens with diagonals of, for example, 55 inches for business purposes. Large-scale production begins two years after Microsoft bought a company for these displays, Perceptive Pixel.

The start of mass production was announced by Stephen Elop, responsible for the Devices branch of Microsoft, Business Spectator writes. The screens of Perceptive Pixel, with diagonals of 55 inches, for example, are currently sold on a limited scale, for prices of about $ 80,000, or more than 61,000 euros. According to ZDNet, Microsoft is aiming to bring prices down.

Microsoft would have big plans with screens for presentations. In line with the One Windows strategy, the Operating Systems Group would work on making the interface for large touchscreens more user-friendly. Microsoft would also strive to let developers develop apps that are optimized for large screens. In the past, Microsoft has experimented with large screens on its Surface tables.
