Matrox introduces a single-slot video card that can simultaneously drive nine screens with a maximum resolution of 1920×1200 pixels. The GPU can, for example, be used for video walls.

The Matrox C900 is a PCIe 3.0 card that fits in a single slot and has 4GB GDDR5 memory. According to the specifications, Matrox uses a GPU from AMD, but which one is not known exactly. There are nine micro HDMI outputs to which as many screens with a maximum resolution of 1920×1200 pixels can be connected.

According to Matrox, the C900 is the first video card that makes it possible to control nine full-HD monitors with a GPU of this size. AMD previously released Eyefinity 6 cards with six mini-displayports and Powercolor once worked on an HD 5970 with twelve connections, but that was a dual-Gpu card.

Matrox touts its video card for driving video walls with an arrangement of 3×3 screens. It is also possible to create other setups such as 9×1 and by combining two C900 video cards in one system, a maximum of 18 screens can be controlled.

The manufacturer supplies the video card with its PowerDesk software for Windows. Drivers are available for Windows 7 through 10, Windows Server 2008 and 2012, and Linux. The Matrox C900 should be available in the second quarter of 2016. The manufacturer has not yet announced a suggested retail price.
