Marketing materials show Bose QuietComfort 45 with extended battery life
The marketing materials for the Bose QuietComfort 45 have appeared online. According to the information, the headphones will have a smaller battery than its predecessor, but a longer battery life. In the United States, the headphones would cost $ 329.
A large amount of photos and promotional text is owned by WinFuture. The site regularly publishes information about unreleased consumer electronics. According to the marketing material, the headphones will have ‘world-class’ active noise cancellation, but technical details are not yet known.
The Bose QuietComfort 45 gets an Aware mode, in which users can listen to music, but also hear the environment. For that, the microphones of the headphones are used to lower the volume when something happens in the environment. The headphones also get a volume-dependent equalizer, a so-called Active EQ.
The headphones contain a 460mAh battery. This means that the capacity is lower than with the predecessor, which has a 495mAh battery. According to Bose, the battery lasts longer and music can be listened to for up to 24 hours, which was 20 hours with the predecessor.
Charging takes 2.5 hours via USB-C. With 15 minutes of charging it would be possible to listen to 2.5 hours of music. The headphones work with Bluetooth 5.1 and also have a 3.5mm jack. According to the marketing material, the headphones are “shockingly light”, but no weight is mentioned. The earcups of the QC45 are made of leatherette and are said to be ‘very comfortable’.
Last month, the QC45 headset came into view via photos posted online by the American inspection body FCC. The QC45 is the successor to the Bose QuietComfort 35 from 2016. A variant of that model with Google Assistant integration appeared a year later, but the QC35 II has not changed otherwise.
Bose will announce the new headphones shortly, according to WinFuture, and the price would be $ 329. Converted with VAT, that is about 338 euros. The two QC35 models had a suggested retail price of 380 euros at their release, but the most recent model now costs less than 200 euros.
