Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Expansion Pass gets new characters and bathroom circuit

Nintendo will soon release the fifth ‘load’ of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass DLC. The racing game will include three new characters and a completely new circuit. Wave 5 will be released this summer, but no concrete release date has been announced yet.

Nintendo confirms during its Direct presentation that Petey Piranha, Wiggler and Kamek will be added as playable characters in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. With this, the DLC pass has added four new characters to date; Birdo was added in the previous wave. Another new driver is expected to be added in the final wave.

Like previous batches, wave 5 also gets eight new circuits. Nintendo shares the first of these: Squeaky Clean Sprint. This circuit takes place in a bathroom and has a cleaning theme including soap and a bath. Nintendo isn’t yet saying which other seven courses will be added in the new batch. The game maker will share more details about this closer to the release of Wave 5, which is scheduled for this summer.
