Manufacturers Announce Founder Editions of GTX 1080 Cards

Following the announcement of the GeForce GTX 1080 by Nvidia, several manufacturers have introduced their Founders Edition of that card. Gigabyte, Galax and Inno3D, among others, have revealed their versions of the card.

The Founders Editions of the GTX 1080 are Nvidia’s stock cooler reference cards, and the models all include the stock clock speeds as well. Nvidia stated at the announcement that the cooler should enable high overclocking speeds. Gigabyte releases its version under the type designation GV-N1080D5X-8GD-B. In addition, the company has a teaser online set of a card in the company’s Extreme Gaming series, due out in June. There are no details, but according to Videocardz it is a GTX 1080, although a GTX 980 Ti Xtreme seems to have been used for the image.

Also, Galax is posting a teaser for an upcoming card in the GTX 100 series alongside its GTX 1080 Founder’s Edition, with even less information. In addition, Inno3D has announced its GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition. Zotac already did that with the announcement of Nvidia’s new card with Pascal GPU.

That announcement was made last Friday, and the GTX 1080 will be available May 27, with the Founders Edition retailing for a suggested retail price of $699. The variants that manufacturers with their own pcb and cooler will release are expected to be cheaper with a suggested retail price of $ 599. The Founders Edition of the GeForce GTX 1070 will be available June 10 for $449.

The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 is built around the Pascal GP104 GPU. There are 2560 cudacores present and the video card contains 8GB gddr5x memory with a frequency of 1250MHz. The memory bus is 256bit wide. The base clock is 1607MHz and the boost clock is 1733MHz.
