Nintendo showed new footage of Luigi’s Mansion 3 during its Direct-stream. The third part takes place in a luxury hotel that is infested by ghosts, who must chase Luigi away with an improved vacuum cleaner. The game will also have an online mode.

New to this third part is Gooigi. This is a slimy version of Luigi that he can summon himself. This slime clone can walk through fences or spikes to reach places that the player would otherwise not be able to reach. Gooigi can only tolerate water less well. Gooigi can also be taken over by a second player to play the game in a co-op mode.

For the third part, Luigi has been given an upgraded vacuum cleaner, with which he can shoot away electric shocks and plungers, among other things. With this plunger, the plumber in the green hat can also grab items, such as crates. He can then attack enemy ghosts with those crates.

There is also a multiplayer mode in the game, Scarescraper. In Scarescraper, up to eight people must pass through procedurally generated levels. This can be done locally through co-op or online multiplayer.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 was already announced in September last year, when only a short trailer of the game was shown. The first part in the series came out in Europe for the Gamecube in 2002, after which it was quiet around the game for a long time. In 2013, part two was released for the 3DS. The original was remastered for the 3DS in 2018.
