Logitech will take servers UESmartRadio.com and MySqueezebox.com offline in February

Logitech will take the servers for UESmartRadio.com and MySqueezebox.com offline from February. As a result, online services provided via these websites will no longer be available from then on. UE SmartRadio Squeezebox devices can still be controlled via local servers.

The company says on the regarding websites that ‘the changing music service landscape and ever-evolving security requirements’ are the reasons for taking the servers offline. Tidal, Deezer and Pandora, among others, can no longer be listened to via this route due to the development, although the company emphasizes that users can be controlled locally via the Logitech Media Server software. This requires UE SmartRadio users to migrate their system to Squeezebox. All users have new ones software necessary to install the audio service locally.

Logitech no longer sells devices under the relevant brand names, but has so far continued to support the necessary online services. It has also been possible to host your own Squeezebox server for some time. With UESmartRadio and MySqueezebox hardware, users could, among other things, play audio from various streaming services and online radio via one platform. The products were originally developed by Slim Devices, after which Logitech acquired the company in 2006.
