Logitech introduces new backlit mechanical keyboard. The K845 Mechanical Illuminiated Keyboard is available with five different switch types, including Cherry MX Red and MX Blue. Prices start at $ 60. The K845 keyboard has ‘floating’ keys and the housing is made of aluminum. The keys are placed under a curve, which, according to Logitech, results in a comfortable typing position. With fold-out feet, the keyboard can be tilted to four or eight degrees, and the backlight has five different settings. It is possible to display different patterns or to have the keys light up reactively after they have been pressed. The brightness of the lighting is also adjustable. The keyboard has a 1.8 meter cable and the dimensions of the K845 are 127x435x6.5mm. The weight is 780 grams. Logitech supplies the K845 Mechanical Illuminited Keyboard with five different switches. There is a choice of red, blue, or brown switches from Logitech itself, and the MX Red and MX Blue switches from Cherry. The versions with Logitech’s own switches have a suggested retail price of sixty dollars, the Cherry variants cost eighty dollars. Euro prices have not yet been announced. According to Logitech, the keyboard will be released ‘soon’.
