Licensee Cat smartphones Bullitt is bankrupt

It appears that Bullitt Group, the manufacturer of Cat and other rugged smartphones like the Motorola Defy, has closed its doors. The British manufacturer is said to have decided to do this due to persistent financial problems. There is no official statement yet.

Cat S75 There are several posts on LinkedIn of Bullitt employees reported that the company has gone bankrupt after a failed restructuring. The hardware division and its hundred associated employees would be transferred to a new company. In vain as it now appears, since the entire workforce is labeled as ‘Open to Work’.

Bullitt has been around since 2009 and is best known for manufacturing rugged mobile devices and accessories for other brands. At the beginning of 2023, Bullitt launched its latest device on the market with the Cat S75. This is the European version of the Motorola Defy 2, which also supports Bullitt’s own satellite text messaging service. In addition to Cat and Motorola, the company has also worked with Land Rover and Kodak, among others.
