LG will release two high-end smartphones this year. The manufacturer has announced this when presenting its quarterly figures. The South Korean company previously confirmed that it will show the G5 for the first time in a month at the telecom fair Mobile World Congress.

LG did not provide specific details about the high-end models during the presentation of the quarterly figures Tuesday morning. The manufacturer expects a lot of competition in the high-end market from ‘anticipated premium models from competitors’. LG is probably referring to its South Korean competitor Samsung. According to rumors, Samsung would also show a high-end model at Mobile World Congress, the suspected Galaxy S7.

In 2015, LG delivered a total of 59.7 million smartphones, a fraction more than the 59.1 million in 2014. In the last three months, in which the V10 came out, the South Korean manufacturer delivered 15.7 million smartphones.

The TV branch had a difficult year. While TV sales increased year-over-year, they fell from year-end 2014, LG attributes this to declining demand in the TV market and unfavorable exchange rates.

LG calls 2015 a “challenging” year for the entire conglomerate. Turnover fell slightly, from 59 trillion won, currently converted around 45 billion euros, to 56.5 trillion won. Operating income for the full year also declined slightly. Thanks in part to the Home Entertainment division, the last quarter was more positive, with slight increases in turnover and operating profit.
