LG Electronics also stops its deliveries to Russia. The company does not mention an end date for that, only that it is “monitoring the situation closely”. LG Electronics’ sister companies have made no such announcement.

LG Electronics is relatively late with the decision. Apple, Microsoft, Meta, Amazon and Google already took various measures against Russia in the first week of the war in Ukraine. Subsequently, Reddit, Samsung, TikTok, Ubisoft, Intel, AMD, Sony, DuckDuckGo, Nintendo and Mozilla also took action against the Russians. The war has now been going on for almost a month.

LG Electronics is known for its televisions, monitors, smartwatches, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners and more. According to LG, LG Electronics is officially made up of five divisions: Home Appliance & Air Solution, Home Entertainment, Mobile Communications, Vehicle Components and B2B.

An important distinction to make is that LG Electronics, which is making the disclosure here, is a subsidiary of LG Corporation. Sister companies from LG Electronics include LG Display, LG Chem, LG Energy Solutions and more. As far as is known, the trade stop only concerns LG Electronics: there is nothing about Russia in the newsrooms of the other LG companies.
