LG and the Chinese company Lumi United are working on smart home products with sensors that measure temperature and humidity, among other things. The first results of the collaboration can be seen at the beginning of September at the IFA fair in Berlin.

The partnership between LG and Lumi United Technology will focus on developing products with sensors that can detect changes indoors using artificial intelligence. This includes changes in humidity, temperature fluctuations and movements of doors or windows.

Several LG smart home products will be equipped or will work closely with Lumi’s Aqara sensor technology. In this way, the manufacturers want to increase the safety and ease of use of the smart home, while saving energy at the same time. For example, an air conditioner from LG can be controlled automatically via an Aqara temperature sensor. If a window is opened while the air conditioning is running, a second sensor ensures that the user receives a notification on their smartphone.

LG and Lumi will demonstrate a number of joint projects for the first time at the IFA technology fair, which will be held in Berlin from September 6-11. For example, there will be an LG dehumidifier with Lumi technology that should keep clothes in optimal condition thanks to an automatic regulation of the humidity. In addition, the companies show how LG’s WK7 smart speaker can operate an LED lamp with Aqara technology via a voice command as ‘cinema mode’.
