Lego and Nintendo have unveiled new expansion packs for Lego Super Mario. The starter set gets cheaper expansions like Desert Pokey and Whomp’s Lava Fortress, and more expensive ones like The Fall of Thwomp. There are also four Power-up packs and a Character pack.

The expansion packs require the ‘Lego Super Mario Adventures with Mario’ starter set, which Nintendo and Lego previously announced. The two sides are now showing eight new expansion sets. The two cheapest sets both cost twenty euros, the most expensive one on display now is Toad’s treasure hunt. This costs seventy euros and allows fans to search for treasures that Toad has hidden.

Four Power-up Packs will also be available upon release on August 1, including the Fire Mario Pack and the Cat Mario Pack. These packages cost ten euros each. Finally, there is the Character package, which costs four euros. A Character Pack contains one of ten collectible enemy characters. Each pack has a buildable character and an action brick, such as a Paragoomba, a Fuzzy or a Bob-omb. When Mario jumps on one of these characters, he reacts in “different ways” and earns the player coins. These coins are tracked in the Lego Super Mario app.
