The Japanese company MouseComputer has presented a separate camera and fingerprint scanner for use with PCs with Windows 10. The accessories allow users to authenticate via Windows Hello, instead of having to enter a password.

According to the manufacturer, the camera connects to the computer via a one and a half meter cable that works with USB 2.0. It also gets its power from there. The CM-01A has an infrared transmitter and receiver and also has the ability to see depth to prevent users from logging in with a photo. In addition, it can distinguish multiple users from each other.

In addition, the Japanese company comes with a separate fingerprint scanner that works in a USB port. It can also distinguish multiple users from each other and also works in every direction, like many modern scanners on smartphones and tablets. The scanner sticks out about an inch from the USB port.

The products will be available on Amazon from next week, but that web store does not yet deliver them in the Benelux. The camera costs $69.99, while customers have to pay $49.99 for the fingerprint scanner. Earlier separate accessories for Windows Hello appeared, but they often cost a lot more than these products.
