Jabra presents Elite 10 and Elite 8 Active earphones
At the IFA in Berlin, Jabra announces its latest Bluetooth earphones. The Elite 8 Active earbuds are IP68 waterproof, dustproof and shockproof. The Elite 10 caps have Dolby Atmos and Dolby Head Tracking.
According to Jabra, the Elite 10 earplugs are the most advanced and best-sounding of the two in-ears. The recommended retail price is 250 euros and you can buy them from mid-September. The in-ears have 10mm drivers and three microphones are integrated per earbud for active noise cancellation and making telephone calls. Thanks to Bluetooth Multipoint you can connect to two devices at the same time. As mentioned, the earphones support Dolby Atmos with head tracking. Spotify Tap, Siri and Google Assistant are also present.
According to Jabra, the earphones offer a battery life of up to 6 hours with noise cancellation enabled. With the included charging case you can use the in-ears for 27 hours. The box can be charged wirelessly.
Jabra Elite 8 Active (dark blue) and Elite 10
The Elite 8 Active earbuds, which cost 200 euros, are, as the name suggests, intended for sports enthusiasts. Just like the Elite 10 buds, they have active noise cancellation, three microphones per earbud and Bluetooth Multipoint, but no head tracking. Siri is also missing; Google Assistant is present. According to Jabra, the earphones meet the requirements of the MIL-STD-810H mark and they also have an IP68 waterproof rating. This is not intended for swimming with the earphones, an employee explains. Bluetooth does not work underwater. The earphones must be able to withstand sweat and dust due to their sealed design. The included charging case only has an IP54 rating and is therefore splash-proof.
The Elite 8 Active eartips have round instead of oval domes, like the Elite 10, so they sit more securely in the ear canal. The flatter shape of the earplug also prevents it from falling out of the ear. This means that smaller 6mm drivers fit than in the Elite 10, but the battery life is longer: 8 hours with noise reduction enabled, which can be extended to 32 hours with the box. These caps will also be available for purchase from mid-September.
