Intel introduces 8TB enterprise SSD

Intel has announced the DC P4510 series of SSDs based on 64-layer 3D NAND. The manufacturer focuses with the series on data center and enterprise applications. The SSDs have storage capacities of up to 8TB.

The DC P4510 series consists of 2.5″ U2 models and these SSDs have 1, 2, 4 or 8TB of storage capacity. In addition, there is the DC P4511 series of M2 SSDs, with storage capacities of 1 and 2TB. These are NVME PCI-E 3.0 x4 SSDs built from Intel’s 64-layer TLC NAND.

In addition to the high storage capacity, Intel emphasizes the high writing performance and endurance, which are higher than its predecessor DC P4500. However, the reading performance is slightly lower. Intel has been supplying the 1TB and 2TB models of the DC P4510 to a few partners for a while, and the 4TB and 8TB SSDs have now been added. The DC P4511 will follow later in the first half of this year.
