Instagram will show how often videos are viewed

Instagram will release an update in the coming weeks, after which users will see how many times a video has been viewed. Instead of the number of likes, the number of views below the videos in the app will be displayed after the update.

The announcement of the new feature shows that the number of views will be below the videos. By clicking on the number, the likes become visible. On its business blog, Instagram writes that video viewing on Instagram has increased by 40 percent in the last six months.

Just like on Facebook, a view will be counted if a user watches a video for at least three seconds. Adding the viewcount is one of the changes that the service will make this year, according to Instagram. Instagram has not yet announced anything about other innovations.
