Instagram is testing a feature that allows users to partially shield their profiles

Instagram is working on a feature that will allow users to better protect photos and videos from unknown followers. The feature would be called Flipside and is currently being tested. It is not clear when Flipside will actually be rolled out.

Thanks to the new feature, users will be able to create a completely new and private section on their Instagram profile. This section can contain posts with photos and videos and can only be made accessible to selected users. From images on Threads it turns out that these protected posts are accompanied by a key symbol. This lets the user know that the photo or video is not visible to everyone.
