InnSpire has announced the InnCable, an Android set-top box intended for hotels to power their TVs with smart software. The hardware is in the form of a cable, with an Ethernet connection on one side and an HDMI port on the other.

Due to its shape, the InnCable can be plugged into an Ethernet port on one side and plugged into the TV via HDMI on the other side. It is possible to power the device via power-over-ethernet, or via the HDMI port, if the TV supports this. If a PoE port is not available, an external USB charger can also be used.

The company has not disclosed what hardware is included in the InnCable. In any case, it is a system that runs on Android. InnSpire provides the device with custom software for hotels, so that they can, for example, charge customers for watching certain TV channels or movies. The cable has WiFi functionality and can be used as an access point.

The InnCable is not so much particularly small, but should be especially practical to use because of the cable design and the fact that no other cables need to be connected to it. The company says to ZDNet that the InnCable will initially be sold to hotels, but there may also be a version for consumers.
