Renders have surfaced online of what may become the Huawei Mate 8. The design is very similar to that of the Mate 7 with the same metal housing as that phone. A striking change is the placement of the flash: the dual-LED sits between the camera and the fingerprint reader.

Another visible difference with the Mate 7 is that the Huawei brand name is not on the front of the device. It can also be seen that the placement of the various sensors on the front has changed and that an extra sensor or flash has been installed on the front.

Furthermore, Gizmochina writes on its blog that it suspects that the Mate 8 will have a 6″ screen with a ‘2k resolution’. Several sites speculate that it will be a screen with a resolution of 1440×2560. Photos are taken with the rear camera happens with a Sony IMX220 sensor at 20.7 megapixels.

The whole thing is reportedly powered by the company’s own Kirin 950 64-bit octacore processor, although it could also be the Kirin 930. Presumably there will be two versions of the device, one with 4GB ram and 64GB storage and a version with 3GB ram with 32GB storage memory. The most expensive version may also support dual SIM.
