Image & Form has announced a new entry in the SteamWorld game series. Unlike the other games in the series, SteamWorld Headhunter will be a 3D co-op game. When the game will appear, and for which game platforms, is not yet known.
Image & Form describes this sixth installment in the SteamWorld series as a “stylish, colorful, third-person cooperative action-adventure game with a head-popping twist.” The teaser trailer shows a robot shooting the head off another robot in a Wild West duel. The shot head then gains legs and then attacks the robot that won the duel. The developer has not disclosed further details.
Previous games in the franchise have been in different genres, such as Metroidvania, turn-based strategy and a turn-based card battler. Currently Image & Form is also working on the story-driven sci-fi adventure game The Gunk. This is also a 3d game. The game will be released on December 16 for Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X, and PC.
