IFA fair continues in modified form
The organizer of the Berlin IFA fair has decided that the event, which is scheduled for September, will not be canceled this year. The fair will continue in an adapted form, although it will only become clear at a later time how this will be done.
IFA Berlin or Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin reports on Twitter that the fair will take place this year according to an ‘innovative new concept’. This is the result of the German government’s decision to ban all events with more than 5,000 participants until October 24. This year’s IFA trade show is scheduled for September 4-9.
The annual Berlin consumer electronics fair will therefore not take place in normal form. The organisers, the gfu Consumer & Home Electronics and the exhibition location Messe Berlin, say that they will present the details of the renewed concept in the near future. It will probably at least partly turn into a digital alternative, which could include an online concept.
According to the organizers, the planning for the new concept is at an advanced stage. This concept should enable IFA to fulfill its role as a global platform for technology innovation and meeting place for brands, manufacturers, stores and media, according to the organizers.
