Humble Bundle is going to fund its own games

Under the banner ‘Humble Originals’, Humble Bundle will publish its own games. These Humble Originals will be available under the Humble Monthly subscription. This bundle entitles you to a previously secret, curated collection of games for a monthly fee.

Humble Originals-branded games are funded by Humble and developed specifically for Monthly Bundle subscribers. Later, the games may also be available through other channels. Humble does not make the games itself, but finances developers.

The first game under the Originals label is called Elephant in the Room and is available in the February monthly bundle. Mighty Rabbit Studios’ game involves leading a grumpy elephant through a house where the pachyderm is not allowed to be recognized by humans.

The Monthly Bundle was launched in November 2015 and is now said to have about 70,000 subscribers, according to an article in Destructoid. What’s in the monthly bundle stays under the hood until the first Friday of each month, except for one early unlock game.

It is not known whether and how many Humble Originals will come in the future. It is also not known whether they will be released on a regular basis.
