HTC has announced two new Desire smartphones. The Desire 825 is a 5.5″ model with Snapdragon 400 and the Desire 530 is a somewhat smaller 5″ device with Snapdragon 210. The smartphones should distinguish themselves with personalized designs.

Both devices have a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, 16GB storage, a micro-SD slot and a 5-megapixel front camera. The Desire 825 has a 13-megapixel camera on the back and 2GB of RAM. The smaller Desire 530 has an 8-megapixel camera on the back and has to make do with 1.5GB of ram.

The HTC Desire 825 is further certified to display ‘Hi-res Audio’ and this device has Dolby Audio support. Both devices include HTC Boomsound speakers. There is also a difference in battery capacity: the Desire 825 contains a 2700mAh battery, the 530 a 2200mAh one.

HTC cites the ‘micro splash’ design as a distinctive design feature; each unit has a unique pattern of paint splatter. The 530 will be available in white and gray, the 825 in white. The HTC Desire 530 will be available from mid-March and the HTC Desire 825 from early May.
