HP releases 27-inch monitor with 165Hz IPS panel for 559 euros
HP releases a new 27″ monitor in its Omen series for gamers. The Omen 27i has an IPS panel with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, a response time of 1ms and a refresh rate of 165Hz. The screen has a G-Sync Compatible -certificate.
The HP Omen 27i uses an IPS panel that comes from LG. The features of HP’s new gaming monitor are comparable to those of LG’s Ultragear 27GL850-B, a monitor that came out last year. According to HP, the panel used can display 98 percent of the dci-p3 color space and the backlight is good for a maximum brightness of 350cd/m². The specified contrast ratio is 1000:1.
The screen stands on an adjustable foot and, according to the manufacturer, the connections are easy to approach due to a tilted position. The back of the screen is equipped with LEDs and the lighting can be controlled with HP’s Omen software.
The monitor has a displayport 1.2 connection, an HDMI 2.0 port and two USB 3.0 connections to connect accessories. There is also a USB 3.0 connection for connection to a PC. The monitor is the successor to the Omen 27. It was released in 2017 and has similar specifications, but is equipped with a TN panel. The new 27i will be released in May for a suggested retail price of 559 euros.
