HP introduces Surface Pro competitor Pro X2 612

HP has released a business tablet with 12.5″ screen and keyboard accessories. HP supplies the Pro X2 612 with a Wacom stylus, which can be integrated into the housing. The tablet can be used with a keyboard with battery and various ports are combined.

The HP Pro x2 612 is available separately as a tablet. The device has a 12.5″ screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The tablet has a micro-SD card slot and HP offers configurations with efficient Core i3s and Core i5s of the Haswell generation from Intel. The screen contains Wacom technology integrated and HP also includes a stylus.Microsoft uses similar touch technology from N-Trig for its competing Surface Pro 3 tablet, which enables thinner screens.

The tablet can be combined with the HP Pro x2 612 Power Keyboard with additional battery. The keyboard contains connections for VGA, Ethernet, Displayport and two USB 3.0 ports. There is also a connection for an optionally available HP UltraSlim dock. Alternatively, a lightweight keyboard with only a USB 3.0 port is available. HP focuses on the business market with the tablet and, among other things, a smart card reader and business software are also available. Intel’s vPro platform with rpm, fingerprint reader and 4G support are optional.

In addition, HP has expanded its Elite700 series of high-end business laptops. In addition to the previously announced models with AMD APUs, there will also be systems with Intel processors. There are several models with 12.5″, 14″ and 15.6″ screens. Prices have not yet been announced by HP.
