Hori will release two Mario Kart-style racing wheels in November. The wheels will work on both Nintendo Switch and PC and will initially be released in Japan. Whether the products will also come to Europe is still unknown.

Hori comes with two different models, the Mario Kart 8 Racing Wheel and the Mario Kart 8 Racing Wheel DX. This concerns a standard version and a more expensive variant with better build quality and more functions. In addition, the more expensive edition has suction cups on the bottom so that the handlebars cannot shift during use. Both handlebars support NFC for use with Amiibo and have the HD Rumble function, have a gyro sensor and contain an infrared motion camera. These features are standard in Nintendo’s Joy Con joysticks. Both handlebars come with foot pedals.

The buttons on the two racing wheels can be reprogrammed. In addition, the deadzone of the handlebars can also be adjusted and the more luxurious model includes a separate button for using and holding items in Mario Kart.

The wheels work on both PC and Nintendo Switch. On the Switch, the handlebars only work in docked mode, but Hori says it is also bringing an extra USB hub on the market with which the products can be used in portable mode. According to Hori, the Switch Lite is also supported in this way. When this accessory will come on the market and how much it will cost is not yet known.

Hori’s racing wheels will be released in Japan in November and can be pre-ordered from Play Asia; this company also delivers in Europe. Whether the steering wheels will also officially come to Europe is still unknown. The standard version is for sale for 72.50 euros, while the Deluxe variant costs 130.70 euros. Import costs may be added to this.
