Hello Games has announced the next update for No Man’s Sky: No Man’s Sky: Beyond. Part of the update, according to the developer, is No Man’s Sky Online and this would be a “radically new” multiplayer experience.

No Man’s Sky: Beyond will be released this summer for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and will consist of three major updates in a single bundle. The first of the three components that Hello Games is announcing is No Man’s Sky Online. According to the developer’s Sean Murray, it will be a “social and radically new multiplayer experience that will allow players anywhere in the universe to meet and play together.”

He emphasizes that Hello Games does not consider No Man’s Sky to be an MMO and that players do not need to subscribe to the upcoming online functionality or make any microtransactions. The functionality is also free ‘for all existing players’. More details about No Man’s Sky Online will be made available by the company in the coming weeks.
