Developer Ninja Theory has announced that Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will be released on April 11 for Nintendo Switch and will cost $30. The game was released in 2017 for Windows and the PS4 and also appeared in 2018 for the Xbox One.

The Switch version will be released exactly one year after the release of the Xbox One version. The release date was set by Ninja Theory announced on Twitter. The game is only available digitally and costs thirty euros in Nintendo’s download shop.

In February, it was announced that Hellblade is coming to Switch, but the release date was not yet known. Polish studio QLOC is taking care of porting the game to the Nintendo Switch.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice came out in 2017. The game was created entirely in-house by Ninja Theory and as a result, the studio had complete freedom over the content of the game. Hellblade is an action game that combines different genres. The game has hack ‘n slash, puzzle and horror elements.

The game is inspired by Norse mythology and Celtic culture and the main character suffers from psychosis. The developer worked with mental health specialists, patients and neuroscientists to render that as realistic as possible.

After its original release on the PlayStation 4 and Windows, the game came out in 2018 for the Xbox One and virtual reality versions came for the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. Developer Ninja Theory was enlisted by Microsoft last year. The studio is now part of Microsoft Studios.
