Following Avast, Eset’s forum has also been cracked. Hackers stole the login details of about 2,700 members. According to the security company, the infrastructure of the security products was not affected by the attack.

Eset confirmed the hack himself on his forum. As far as known, malicious parties stole the login details of approximately 2,700 members. It involved usernames, email addresses and encrypted passwords. The Slovakian company emphasizes that no financial data has been stolen and that the infrastructure of its products has not been compromised.

It is not clear exactly how the hackers were able to strike. The security company has launched an investigation with the supplier of the forum software IP.Board. In the meantime, Eset advises affected forum users to change their passwords immediately.

The hack at Eset follows shortly after it became known that the forum of competitor Avast had also been hacked. The Czech company’s hackers were able to get to the management panel of the open source forum software Simple Machines because one of the admins probably used his password elsewhere.
