Gran Turismo 7 will receive post-release updates with new tracks and cars

Developer Polyphony Digital has shared some details about the updates that racing game Gran Turismo 7 will receive after release. The company will, among other things, add new cars and tracks to the game. Gran Turismo 7 comes out on Friday.

Polyphony Digital announces its update plans in a short blog post. The company reports that “new content” will be added to Gran Turismo 7 with future updates, sharing a list of updates players can expect.

In addition to new cars and tracks, the racing game will also get new World Circuits events, mission races, Music Rally tracks and interchangeable engine parts. The studio also talks about new features for online lobbies, new Time Trials for the Sports mode and improvements to the punishment algorithm for the online multiplayer.

Gran Turismo 7 was announced in 2020 and will be released on Friday, March 4 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The game will feature 400 cars and 34 tracks with over 90 different layouts upon release. Recently, the developer also disclosed details about the dynamic weather system and the different game modes of the racing game. This week saw the first reviews of the game, which has been received positively by critics. For example, the game scores an 88 on both Metacritic and OpenCritic.
