The Safety Check feature, which checks if the user’s password has been compromised, now automatically runs in the background in the desktop version of Chrome. In addition, the function revokes the rights of sites that the user has not visited for a long time.

If a password has been leaked, the user will now see a warning in the Chrome menu, Google wrote on Thursday. The user is also warned about ‘potentially harmful extensions’ or when he is using an outdated version of Chrome.

For sites that the user has not visited for a long time, the user will also receive a message to check the permissions again. Chrome can even revoke permissions from the site in such a case, for example if it was ever allowed to use the microphone or access the user’s location.

Furthermore, Google will roll out a new tab feature in the coming weeks that will let the user save tab groups. Those saved groups can be opened in the Chrome browser on other desktops.
