Google will start offering Street View in Germany again this summer. It has sent its cars for taking 360-degree images onto the streets and the new images will be visible from next month.

Google stopped making Street View images in 2011 because German governments had privacy concerns about the service. A limited version of the service did go online, but it does not contain photos of the vast majority of the country. Google has wanted to start offering the service again in Germany for some time.

To meet privacy concerns, Google makes it possible for consumers and companies to indicate in advance and afterwards whether the company should blur certain images. Moreover, Google blurs license plates and people like everywhere else, the company reports.

The cars will be driving around from this month until October. The images will be available online from July, after which images of the entire country should be available by the end of this year.
