Google has released an update that aims to address the Pixel 2 XL’s screen issues. Users can now choose from three screen profiles. In addition, Google is making changes that should extend the life of the screen.

The three options are ‘enhanced’, ‘natural’ and ‘saturated’, writes Android Central. The first option is most similar to the old ‘vivid colors’ setting. According to the site, the latter option adds some more colors and more color range, but the screen remains the natural display according to Google. Google announced the measures late last month and offered customers worldwide a two-year warranty.

The other changes consist of a reduced maximum brightness of the screen, which should entail a longer lifespan of the OLED panel. In addition, the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen disappears after a while, if no action by the user is taken. This should prevent burn-in of the buttons. Google writes that the update should also fix a slight clicking noise that Pixel 2 users could hear.

In addition, along with the other changes, the Pixel and Nexus devices are equipped with the latest patch level and will receive a patch for the Krack vulnerability in wpa and wpa2. Apple released patches with version 11.1 of iOS.
