Google is working on a new feature for Assistant called Memory. The ‘memory’ function should work as a way to quickly store and retrieve things like notes, screenshots, photos and information from emails.

For example, Memory should serve as a memory aid for users, according to the description of 9to5Google. The site found the feature while reviewing the code of an APK installation file of the Assistant app.

Users can use the feature via a command to the Assistant or a shortcut on the home screen. It is possible to add web pages, screenshots, photos of notes or objects, recipes, shipping confirmations, or flights and view them chronologically in a feed. That feed is also searchable and Google will show contextual actions, such as searching for flight status or track and trace numbers.

Google is now testing the feature internally, according to the site. It is not yet known when the feature will come to Assistant. It is also unclear whether the function will only work in the English-language Assistant or whether it will also be available in other languages.
