Google appears to be working on a new AI feature for Google Chrome that can automatically group tabs. A protected settings menu also contains some unannounced AI functions.

The functions have been discovered by X-user Leopeva. He discovered the option in the code of Google Chrome to automatically bundle tabs. The X user demonstrates in a video that the option can be activated by right-clicking on a tab and then clicking the ‘Organize tabs’ option. By default, this option is not yet activated for users.

Leopeva shows in another post that there is also a hidden settings menu in Chrome that contains three AI functions: ‘Autofill helper’, ‘Context menu tab group’ and ‘Expanded theme gallery’. This settings menu contains chrome://settings/ai in the address bar. With the first function, an autofill function could be activated for some empty fields. The second option represents the automatic grouping of tabs and the third functionality should allow users to have more visual themes at their disposal thanks to artificial intelligence. It is currently unclear when Google will officially introduce these features.
