Google ends Chrome support for 32-bit Linux

Chrome will stop releasing official Google Chrome 32bit Linux versions at the beginning of March 2016. That doesn’t mean there’s no longer support for the open source project Chromium, so users of various 32-bit Linux distributions don’t have to worry.

That writes Chromium developer Dirk Pranke in the Chromium dev channel on Google Groups. This means that users of the widely used Linux distributions Ubuntu 12.04 and Debian Wheezy will no longer receive automatic updates. Since the goal is to maintain the 32-bit version of Chromium within those channels, it is recommended that you upgrade to newer versions of both operating systems.

Since 32bit versions of Chrome OS and Android will continue to exist on both ARM and X86 processors for years to come, the 32bit version of Chromium will not disappear anytime soon, which is also confirmed by Pranke in the channel.
