‘Gigabyte RTX 30 and RTX 40 video cards are sensitive to PCB cracks’

Youtubers Louis Rossmann and JayzTwoCents warn that the PCBs of the Gigabyte RTX 30 and RTX 40 video cards can rupture. This could be due to a design flaw near the PCIe slot.

The problems are said to mainly occur with the RTX 30 series, but in the RTX 40 line-up the circuit board also appears to be able to tear with ‘just a small impact’. Due to the crack formation, the components are no longer supplied with power, according to a repaireras a result of which the video card can no longer transfer data and therefore becomes unusable. On repair.wiki The community has now posted a manual to repair a video card with similar problems. Jérémie, the repairman who uncovered the PCB problems, states, however that the repair is only successful in 10 to 20 percent of the cases and that the GPUs can no longer be safely used horizontally.
