Game PC housing consists entirely of Lego

Mike Schropp, builder of lego case mods, has created an X-shaped game system from the small bricks. The fifty centimeters high Lego Gaming Computer has been built from the ground up, including a homemade GPU heatsink.

Besides the heatsink, Schropp was also unhappy with the quality of the capacitors in the Silverstone SFX 600W Gold PSU and replaced them as well. No glue has been used throughout the construction. For sturdiness, Schropp cleverly overlaps the Lego plates and bricks.

The case seems to consist of one piece, but can easily be opened because the top of the lower quarter of the case is covered with smooth stones, as is the bottom of the ‘lid’. Furthermore, the motherboard is located transversely in the X-shaped case. This means that the CPU is in a separate ‘room’ of the X and has its own air passage. The entire heatsink is built-in and supported by Lego bricks. The same applies to the graphics card, which stands upright due to its strange shape. The cooling is further provided by custom-made cooling towers.

The entire build and design can be found on Total Geekdom’s site, which also lists the prices. They range from $1700 to $2700. It is also possible to put together a custom system. It’s not Schropp’s first Lego project. He previously built a small Lego computer: the Micro Lego Computer.
