It will be possible for Android smartphone users who do not have a Samsung device to play Fortnite. The makers of the game have opened registration and soon non-Samsung users will also be allowed in.

The website 9To5Google discovered that it is possible for Android users to register on the Epic Games website. Players must provide an email address and will receive an email invitation upon registration to download the installer and start playing the game. The website also includes a list of Android smartphones that are compatible with the game.

Fortnite Battle Royale recently came out exclusively for Samsung smartphones, although it is still a beta version. It concerns the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S8, S8+ S9, S9+ Note 8, Note 9, Tab S3 and Tab S4. Epic Games had already indicated that it would later open registration for other smartphone brands and has now done so.

Unlike most Android games, Fortnite does not come out in Google’s Play Store. That’s because Epic Games wants to avoid the mandatory payment to Google and therefore wants to keep the revenue from the sale of the game completely itself. In the Play Store, Google has now placed a message that Fortnite will not be released in the Play Store, to point out this to gamers who are looking for it.
