Fortnite is down after everything disappeared into a black hole

Fortnite has been unplayable since Sunday night. The downtime follows the end of Fortnite Season 10, an event where everything in the game disappeared into a black hole. This seems to be the prelude to ‘Chapter 2’ for the game.

Fortnite has been offline since Sunday night and Epic Games’ status page is reporting “anomaly detected” for the game’s services. The game’s live stream shows nothing but a black hole with background noise. That black hole appeared in the game on Sunday at the end of Season 10. Players can play a Galaga-esque minigame by entering the Konami code “up, up, down, down, b/o, a/x, start/enter”. to feed, writes Fortnite News.

Players watched as the Visitor’s rocket collided with other rockets in an explosion, swallowing a meteor over Dusty Depot. Then the meteor appeared from a crack in the sky and after the explosion that followed, everything in the game was swallowed by a black hole, even interface elements.

Epic Games has not reported on further progress, but did hint at ‘the end’ in recent weeks. Evidence also emerged over the weekend for a ‘Chapter 2’ for the popular game, which may include a new playable map in Fortnite.
