Firmware Update: Synology Disk Station Manager 4.3 build 3810.4

Spread the love

Synology has released a fourth update of version 4.3 build 3810 of Disk Station Manager. Synology DSM is the management software that runs on several of the company’s NAS products. The Disk, Cube and Rack Stations offer more than just extra storage space. For example, backups of all clients on the network can be made and files can be downloaded via http, ftp, bittorrent, usenet and eMule, so that, for example, energy-hungry PCs can switch off at night while the download just comes in. Furthermore, audio and video files can be streamed over the network via the built-in iTunes server, a dynamic website can be hosted using PHP and MySQL and the device can act as a print server.

This update is only suitable for the NAS models ending in 10 or higher. For the other conditions, see this page. A live demo is available on this page are being found. Version 4.3 contains a huge list of changes, too many to list here. This update also brings the following improvements:

Compatibility and Installation

  • DSM 4.3-3810 Update 4 can only be installed on Synology products running DSM 4.3-3810 via DSM Update. Please log in to DSM and go to Control Panel > DSM Update to install the update.

Improvements

  • Enhanced the security of Windows File Services (SMB) to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Enhanced the compatibility of File Station with Internet Explorer 11.

Fixed Issues

  • Data that was read from a volume would be incorrect when a crashed SSD cache was mounted on that volume.
  • SNMP service would consume excessive memory when it was enabled.
  • Synology NAS could not shut down or reboot when DoS protection was enabled.
