Firmware Update: Sony PlayStation Vita 3.10

Sony has released new firmware for its portable game console, the PlayStation Vita. The firmware carries version number 3.10 and downloading is preferably done from the menu of the device itself. New in this release is, among other things, the possibility to exchange voice messages, it is possible to keep an agenda and the Vita can now be operated via a bluetooth keyboard. The complete changelog for this release can be found below.

Messages
You can now exchange voice messages. Select [Bijvoegen] on the input screen and follow the instructions on the following screens.

agenda
The Calendar application has been added. You can start the application from the home screen. In the Calendar application, you can manage upcoming events. When creating an event, you can link an application to it, such as a game, and add information about friends who might be attending the event. You can also share the event with others using applications like Messages and Email, and sync events with Google Calendar.

content manager
[Content op geheugenkaart beheren] has been added to the LiveArea screen. You can now check the data allocation on the memory card, delete applications and saved data, and manage content. With this feature update, [Instellingen] > [Beheer van applicatiedata] deleted.

Other
Up to 500 application icons can now be displayed on the home screen. This includes icons in folders. Even more new and improved features in version 3.10

Messages
If next to a message [Berichten met andere spelers] is displayed, you can change the title of this post with two or more other members. Select [Options] > [Titel wijzigen] on the input screen.

Parental supervision
You can now prevent the PlayStation Store from opening. The Parental Controls feature also allows you to adjust the settings for a service to block the display of objectionable websites. Select [Functies] > [Trend Micro Web Security]. You may have to pay for this service.

Videos
[Grootte] has been added to allow you to sort items in the content list.

Music
You can now search for content on a connected computer using keywords. The list of categories or content on the connected computer will be displayed on your system, and you can [Zoeken] select in the top left corner of the screen.

photos
You can now adjust settings so that the screen does not rotate automatically when you move or tilt the PS Vita system. To disable screen rotation, open an image or video and select [Options] > [Instellingen] > [Scherm automatisch draaien] to disable this feature. [Vrije vorm] has been added as a shooting mode for the panoramic camera.

Settings
[Datum en tijd] > [Zomertijd] has been removed and [Zomertijd automatisch aanpassen] is added. Enable this feature to automatically adjust daylight saving time. This feature is only available if you are in your region [Datum en tijd] > [Tijdzone] to a region that uses daylight saving time. [30 minuten] has been added as a setting for [Instellingen voor energiebesparing] > [Automatisch overschakelen naar stand-bymodus].

Other
You can now use a Bluetooth keyboard with the PS Vita system. You can enter English or Japanese text.
