Firmware Update: Sony PlayStation Portable 6.10

Sony has already released a new firmware, with version number 6.10, for its PlayStation Portables a few days ago. The new firmware includes the addition of SensMe with which music files can be categorized. The list of changes since the previous entry in the Meuktracker looks like this:

The main features in version 6.10 of the system software

• SensMe™ channels have been added as a new feature.
  The SensMe™ application evaluates music tracks imported from the Media Go application to the PSP system using Sony’s 12 Tone Analysis technology. The application automatically assigns the tracks to 12 different channels, such as Relax and Dance. You can listen to music that suits the time of day or your mood by choosing a channel.
  Note: You must first download the application to your PSP™ system before you can use the SensMe™ channels on your system.
• You can now import playlists created with the Media Go application.
  You can now import music played through Media Go directly to your PSP system so you can listen to it anywhere.

Even more new and improved features in version 6.10

PlayStation®Network:

• [Memory Stick™] has been added as a storage location for content you have downloaded from PlayStation®Store. This feature is only compatible with the PSP-1000 series.

Game:

• [Bijwerken] has been added to the options menu for games.
  If you select this option, you can connect your system to the Internet and check if there is update data available for the game you are playing. If so, you can use this option to download and install the updated data.

Settings

• In [Opties voor sluiten display-paneel] under Settings > [Systeeminstellingen] is the design for it [Standaard]theme changed. This feature is only compatible with the PSP-1000 series.

Others

• The DUN (Dial-up Networking) profile for network dial-in has been added as one of the supported Bluetooth® profiles. This feature is only compatible with the PSP-1000 series.

New features in the PlayStation®Store

On October 1, 2009, a new category for minigames was added to the PlayStation®Store, namely [minis]. In this category in the PlayStation®Store you can download (purchase) mini-games that you can play quickly and easily on your system.
