Firmware update: Pioneer DVR-109 1.40

Pioneer also today released a new firmware for its DVR-109 DVD burner. The download weighs just under 1MB and comes in the form of a handy Windows installer downloaded† Version 1.40 of the firmware improves the read and write capabilities of the drive and several new types of media are now recognized. The full changelog therefore looks like this:

Changes in 1.40

  • Readability by some of Pioneer Car Navigation systems and some of DVD-ROM drives is improved for the written DVD-R and DVD-RW discs by DAO (Direct-At-Once) method
