Firmware update: iRiver iMP-550 1.20

iRiver has released a new firmware for its iMP-550 with some new features and tweaks. For example, in version 1.20 Xtreme 3D and a new Level Meter have been added. The full list of changes looks like this:

Added Features

  • Xtreme 3D (MENU > SOUND > Xtreme 3D)
    • Xtreme 3D mode is added to provide a stereophonic sound quality.
  • The Xtreme EQ menu is unified with Sound menu.
  • The adapter volume, sound balance, eq limit, tag auto eq is moved to the Sound menu (previously at Control menu).
  • DBE (Dynamic Bass Enhancement) function has been added. There are 5 levels, from 0(off) to 5. The default level is 4.
  • Hold PROGRAM/MEMORY/EQ button to select Xtreme 3D.
  • LEVEL METER (MENU DISPLAY > VISUALIZATION)
    • 9 Band Level Meter is added to Visualization function. (The existing Level Meter is Level Meter 1, Newly added Level Meter is Level Meter 2.)
  • Improved Features

  • Display Russian Fonts
    • Corrected Russian Font display
  • Switching to CD mode when lost password
    • When you don’t remember the password in Tuner mode, you can switch to CD mode by holding MODE/CDnFM/STEREO.
  • Fixed Bugs

  • Now volume can be controlled in Game Mode.
  • It beeps when you change Beep Volume to hear beep sound.
  • Now the backlight is on when track changes after you set Back-Light to 20.
  • When you set to Load Default in Tuner mode, the display overlapped with the loading animation.
  • Now Fade On/Off works in Tuner mode.
